The picturesque village of Roquebrun, also called ‘Petit Nice’, located next to the River Orb, offers many possibilities for an active holiday. It’s an ancient Midi village, situated against the hill with a micro climate and it has about 600 inhabitants. The ruins of the medieval tower dominate the paved streets of this lovely village. The ‘Jardin Mediterranéen’ is worth a visit! This garden has a collection of more than 400 Mediterranean and exotic plants; Cacti of Barbarie (with edible fruits) and other exotic trees. The mimosa blossoms in February which will turn the whole village into a yellow picture for weeks.
The river Orb has a lovely beach for sunbathing and swimming. It’s the home base for starting an exciting Cano tour (discount tickets available at the Moerland office). Lots of possibilities for walking and biking in the area. There’s a small supermarket in Roquebrun, a baker’s, some pubs and restaurants.
