Fontiers Cabardès is located at the foot of the 'Montagne Noire ' , 20 kilometres away from Carcassonne and Mazamet. In this beautiful wooded area with several lakes , such as Lake St. Denis and Lake La Galaube for fish lovers or the nearby lake Fontiers where the trout are plotted . Also worth visiting is the paper mill in Brousse and of course the Canal du Midi . On Saturday morning you can visit a large market in the nearby village of Revel and the village Dufort known for its copper and leather. Some stores also sell copper and leather from the region. In the village itself is a small supermarket , which also sells bread , a café and a restaurant. In this beautiful wooded area you can make wonderful trips on foot or by bike .
