Anduze is a commune in the Gard department .
The southern French village Anduze exudes serenity and it seems that everyone respects siesta between 13:00 and 15:00 hours . Also the tourists.
Drink a "Formidable Grenadine " ( later renamed "Monaco" some beer with grenadine syrup and lemonade content ) on a quiet terrace , or cool off in the Gardon d' Anduze.
Anduze evolved into the cradle of French sericulture which flourished in the late 13th century. The town then was the regional center of trade in silk and wool .
Situated near Anduze you find La Bambouseraie , a park with a bambouforest with stems up to 28 m height .It was planted mid 19th century by Eugène Mazel .
Anduze is also known for its bell tower ( la tour de l' horloge) and the spring ( at Place des Halles) in the center.
