Situated on the plain, with the un-spoilt beauty and dramatic mountains of the Languedoc Natural Park to the North and the Mediterranean beaches to the South. Both are within easy driving distance. It is a typical Languedoc village dating back to medieval times, and is laid out in the circular pattern so typical of the area.
Magalas is a thriving wine-growing village with its own 'cave cooperative' where local vineyards send their grapes for making into superb wines.
There is a market in the town square every Wednesday. Outdoor performances and live music take place in the square on many weekends during the summer.
The wonderful medieval church, and its internationally renowned acoustics plays host to many classical concerts.
