Lamalou-Les-Bains is a great little spa town in the heart of the valley of the River Orb. The discovery of healing waters turned the town into a popular resort for the gentry from Paris at the end of the 19th century. Because of this Lamalou looks and feels totally different from surrounding towns. There are loads of villas and mansions built in the "belle epoque" style along with a theatre, casino and cinema. For its size it has a huge number of amenities - shops, banks, bars restaurants and a golf club. And it has a great community spirit with opereta festivals in the summer and winter and free shows and concerts in the square almost every weekend in the summer. The River Orb is a beautiful, wild river and the surrounding hills give an amazing backdrop to the town.
